Toys Tests Performed During Inspection

There are several important things that are the main focus
on the inspection of this TOYS product, namely:
1. Checking stuffing (stuffing material): inside the doll, this becomes important because for the
sake of safety and health factors of children, not all materials can be used as
fillers in the doll. The material commonly used is special polyester to wear.
For local products with a low grade many also & patchworks.
Usually an inspector will randomly take samples from
production using AQL S-1, if found stuffing material does not match the sample
material, then all lots in production will be considered Reject and
consequently the factory must revise its production.
2. Check the number of stitches: This check is done because the large number of stitches in
a doll product is of course related to its strength. It is conceivable that
usually a cute doll will be a struggle for children, and it will be a problem
if the doll is pulled due to pull by the children then the stitches come loose
and the filling material inside comes out. The standard used is usually 10
stitches (stitch) per inch. But this does not absolutely depend on the buyer
standard.
3. Distance of seam to edge: This also needs to be considered because it is the same as
the previous points relating to strength and security. To check this point, of
course we have to tear the doll and we reverse the stitches from the inside out
as shown below. Usually the standard distance is at least 5 mm.
4. Pull test on the seams and components: This test is of course intended to test the strength of the
stitches and components on the doll (eyes or nose of the doll. This test is
done with a special tool that is a tension claw, the shape is similar to a
clamp in front and a tension gauge behind it. Usually for seams a tensile load
of 70N is used, while for components a load of 50-90N is used.
5. Metal detector test: Checking by using a metal detector machine. This check aims
to find out whether there is iron in the doll such as a needle or cutter that
may be left behind during the production process. This check is usually done
100% by the manufacturer while our inspectors only verify it using AQL S-1.
This check is very important because it is related to product safety,
especially the customer doll products are children. The standard used is
usually a machine using 10-15 PPM
