Quality Control

Quality Control
QUALITY DEFENITION: Everyone wants a quality product or service, but the quality must of course be measured. How can we possibly state a quality product or service if we never know the definition of quality itself? There are at least two quality definitions that are quite relevant:
Customer-based definition of Quality (Consumer Approach) The definition of quality for most people has a high level of excellence but the definition of superior itself is relative. , but the quality depends on consumers to judge it. The definition of a quality product or service also changes with time, a product that was once a quality can be an outdated product today.
What effect does this fact have on company business. quality in a business perspective, revolves around consumer expectations - expectations that might be spoken or implied. The real proof of a quality product or service is "when the customer returns after the sale".

BASIC QUALITY CONTROL: Companies can apply several basic methods of Quality Control to produce quality products or services. The things that need to be done to integrate QC into the company system are as follows:
Introducing QC; crucial things in introducing QC in a company as follows: announcing acceptance of the QC program from important stakeholders in the company, communicating to parties who have strength in the company and all parties related to the benefits of QC, conducting training to employees to ensure the QC program runs in a manner consistent
Listening to consumers; An important concept of QC is to listen to consumers "the voice of the customer" (the VOC). Basically, consumers want three things "better, faster, and cheaper" of course in reality consumers will not be able to all three, so we must identify what is most important of these three things for consumers. There are several ways to identify consumer desires, namely questionnaires, direct interviews, complaint reviews, forming focus groups, reviewing buying patterns, and interviewing field officers, taking ideas from competitors, and using a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
Measuring Quality Level; A management term "You can't manage what you can't measure" is very relevant in the world of QC. A good calculation system helps us to know what has been done and what will be done. Consumers in particular require producers to measure the suitability of the product or service with the desires of consumers. The task of QC is to determine what must be measured, how to measure and when to be measured. Employee training is very important to ensure that everyone involved in the process measures certain things in the same way. We also need to collect data in a certain format so that it can be analyzed to find out how effective the quality of an industrial process is. The effectiveness of the quality of an industrial process is directly related to the quality of its data collection and process analysis. If you don't have good data, you won't be able to make good decisions.
Evaluating Quality Level; The most common way to analyze data collected is to use statistics. Statistics can find out which part of the process is causing the biggest problems. Statistics can also use sampling data only, so you don't have to use 100% of the data. Statistics can also analyze the relationships between various factors that are not even very visible. Statistics can also identify small variations in the process that will be a big problem if corrective action is not taken. The type of statistical method commonly used is Statistical Process Control (SPC). SPC can identify problems before they have a real impact on product or service quality. The basic concept of SPC is that we can find changes in a process before it can have a bad effect on the product, and we can improve the process before a bad product is made.
The statistical definition of Quality (statistical approach): The statistical definition approach is more precise (accurate) than the other definition approaches. When calculating quality statistically, look at the variation in the normal curve between consumer demand and the product produced. the smaller the variation the higher the quality of a product or service.

STANDARD QUALITY SETTINGS: After determining the definition of quality, the company needs a standard to measure the quality level. Many standards are made for the health and welfare needs of consumers who use these products or services. Standard quality is also very necessary in international trade. Almost every industry enters into trade associations or groups that create quality standards so that companies are able to measure the level of product or service quality. The industry also has a standard body for products that are important to them. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international body consisting of national standard bodies in almost all countries.
