Needle Detector
How to check the garment to Metal detector: After garment is finished in quality control finishing, The garment will enter the packing area that will go
through the needle detector.
What is meant by Metal detector? A device that can detect metal elements outside or in the
garment with this tool the garment will be free of metal elements
Usually this tool has a sensitive size of 1.0 mm or 1.2 mm
which is often used in the garment industry depending on the request of each of
the buyers, especially in baby garment garments or children
Garments that are free of metal are separated and ready to
be sent to the packing area for the next ratio and packing according to the
purchase order

Textile metal detector provides quality assurance solutions
for all products that contain non-ferrous metal accessories, such as Zip codes,
zippers, buttons and rivets. This exceptional sensitivity guarantees that iron
contaminants to the equivalent of 1.2 mm in diameter will be detected at each point
in the aperture metal detector. This machine can detect the presence of iron
contaminants in products containing brass, lead, copper, aluminum and any other
metal used and approved by leading textile accessory manufacturers such as YKK,
Prim, and Opti.
Metal Detector is now an integral part of the textile and
apparel production process. Product protection is now an important quality
assurance requirement for manufacturers to supply leading brand names and
retail outlets throughout the world. The use of textile metal detector
equipment ensures that all products are safe and free of metal contaminants.
This is a very important consideration for manufacturers, bad publicity, legal
action and financial losses can occur if a customer is injured by a broken needle
tip or other iron contaminants left in the finished product during the
manufacturing process. Detergent detectors are widely used in the clothing
industry to identify needles and staples.
It has automatic
balance capability and also has a strong sensitivity to ferrous metals. This is
one of the most important inspection equipment in the quality of sewn products.
Metal detector calibration: Usually the needle detector tool every day in the
calibration is to make sure the tool is running properly the calibration method
is by using a 1.2 mm metal card which is placed on the left and the middle and
the right which is to know the sensitivity of the tool to the metal

The procedure of Metal Detection Calibration
1. The 9 Point Calibration check on the detector is done by
dividing the metal detector conveyor belt into 3 zones.
2. The Calibration Card, supplied by machine vendor, should
be passed through each of these zones at three different height levels.

3. The Detector sensitivity must be set at a level which is
less than the customer’s requirement (1,1.2mm and 1.5mm etc.).
4. The Calibration Card should be placed on the conveyor
belt and passed through each zone and A, B and C readings to be recorded on a 9
Point Calibration Report.

Zipper and Needle Detection Machine
Needle detection has evolved to become an integral part of
accessories for the garment production process, especially for baby /
children's clothing or clothing that will be shipped overseas (countries that
require imported clothing to undergo stringent metal and needle detection
control procedures).
The two most common types of needle detectors are
conveyor-belt types and hand-held types. Although both perform differently from
the others (with the type of handheld used for manual inspection), both
detectors are sensitive enough to ensure no needles, broken needle tips, and
other metal contaminants are left in the accessory / clothing itself.
There are zippers that can be specifically designed to
avoid detection by metal detectors and / or needles, where sliders and metal
parts are free of ferromagnetic, which means they will not trigger the detector
and jeopardize the speed of the garment production process. However, there are
zippers - especially those made of ferrous metal or with metal trim iron -
which can cause inefficiencies in the process
