How to step use Moisture Content (MC)
As is known there are various types of Moisture Content
meters, namely MC with analogue needles and MC with Digital sensors, here are
some tips so that when using these tools can get data that is as accurate as
possible and as effective as possible.
Using an MC meter is not as easy and as simple as the
implementation.
Knowledge of wood species, density, and furniture construction will greatly assist the accuracy of the measurement results.

1.) Choose the right type of MC for the type of product or
process. MC puncture is the most accurate type but has the disadvantage of
leaving a puncture hole on the wood surface.
2.) To avoid this, then select the surface or product
components that are hidden at the time of measurement so that the puncture
marks of the MC meter are not visible.
3.) Perform more frequent and more accurate measurements during
the production process than in the finishing process.
4.) When using a puncture type MC, aim the position of the
two needles in the direction of the fiber for better measurement results. Or if
you use a type of digital MC paste, do it in a straight line (not bent /
curved).
5.) Insert the tip of the MC meter needle as deep as
possible.

6.) Pay attention to the density of wood in certain types,
if you use an MC type paste, the tool MUST be adjusted to the density of wood.
Usually there are up to 4 levels of measurement.
7.) Select the component parts to be measured, focus more on
the thicker components where the component has the possibility of a higher MC
level.
8.) Make sure that the MC meter battery is still in good
condition
